My full name is Robert Hair Miller and I was born in Dalmarnock Road in Bridgeton, Glasgow. I attended Thomson Street Primary School in Dennistoun then Whitehill Senior Secondary School. I was a carpet designer at Lyle's Carpet Factory after leaving school but was made redundant after only two years. I decided to go to Glasgow School Of Art at age twenty but left there after two and a half years to make my living playing piano and singing. I stopped painting for about twenty years and started again after my friend Jim Watt lost his son in a car accident and I offered to paint him. The reaction was such I started painting more and more. I painted some work for various charities raising thousands of pounds and was offered to exhibit at the East Kilbride Art Centre in August 2007. I will attempt to paint almost anything but portraiture is my favourite subject and I take great pride in catching a likeness.
